Ask a questionRight to stay – a right granted by exception to a foreign national, under the conditions of this law, which allows them to stay temporarily on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, without holding a residence permit, for a cumulative period of more than 90 calendar days, but not exceeding one calendar year.
The service is provided at the request of individuals, has a fixed period of provision regardless of the reason selected, and 6 reasons:
- the right to stay temporarily of professional sellers;
- the right to stay temporarily of contract service providers;
- the right to stay temporarily of independent professionals;
- the right to stay temporarily of seasonal workers in agricultural work;
- the right to stay temporarily of cross-border workers;
- the right to stay temporarily of IT specialists.

How to apply
- Submitting the application
The application is submitted at the Single Counter for the documentation of foreign nationals of the IGM:
- Single counter for the documentation of foreign nationals, Chișinău, 124 Ștefan cel Mare și Sfînt Boulevard
- North regional service for the documentation of foreign nationals, Bălți, 9 Moscovei Street
- South regional service for the documentation of foreign nationals, Comrat, 22 Comsomolului Street
- South regional service for the documentation of foreign nationals, Cahul, 79 Ioan Vodă cel Cumplit Street
- Receiving the application and examining the file
When applications are submitted, the employee at the Single Counter identifies the foreign national, checks the correctness and completeness of the application and the documents presented, establishes their authenticity and legality, and accepts or returns the application. If the application for the granting of the right to stay is rejected, the Counter employee informs the applicant of the reason for the rejection and asks for the irregularities found to be removed or the missing documents to be submitted.
If the application is accepted, the Counter employee applies the stamp “Conform to the original” on the copies of the documents received and informs the applicant of the examination period and of the fees to be collected for the services provided in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in force. - Issuing the Decision to grant the right to stay
The Confirmation of the right to stay issued is signed by the Director of the IGM, with the stamp of the institution applied (the date of issue of the Confirmation of the right to stay is entered in the database of the Automated Information Subsystem of the IGM).

For seasonal workers in agricultural work
The document confirming that they are authorised by a legal entity from a member state of the European Union to negotiate the sale of services or goods or to conclude a contract for the sale of services
For foreign nationals from a member state of the European Union who work as professional sellers
Passport of the foreign citizen
Submitted, where applicable
Education or qualification documents and confirmation of professional experience of at least 6 years in the field
For foreign nationals from a member state of the European Union who work as independent professionals
the list of the most important works carried out, in the fields for which attestation is requested
The document confirming the obtaining of a contract for the provision of services for a maximum of 12 months for the legal entity from an EU member state
For foreign nationals from a member state of the European Union who work as contract service providers
The document confirming the provision of a temporary service as an employee of the legal entity for at least the previous year
