Moldova entrepreneur's patent: monthly fee from 20 lei, free to apply

Good to know

The application is free and takes 3 working days. You pay the monthly patent fee, which starts from 20 lei (see the annex to Law no. 93/1998).
You can ask for a patent if you are a Moldovan citizen with full legal capacity, or a foreigner or stateless person who lives permanently in Moldova, are entitled to do business, have declared your intention to buy a patent and meet the qualification rules for the activity.
You apply online or at the counter of the State Tax Service subdivision for the area where you live or plan to work. You receive the patent in your Taxpayer's Personal Cabinet or at the counter.
The patent is valid for no less than 1 month and no more than 12 months, and you must pay the fee for the period you ask for.

Submit the application
Online: press Apply online at the top of this page. At the counter: go to the subdivision of the State Tax Service (SFS) for the area where you live or intend to work.

Receive the patent
Online through your Taxpayer's Personal Cabinet, or at the counter of the tax service directorate for your area.

Required documents

Bring or upload the documents that apply to your activity:

Diploma or another document on your studies or earlier work
proving the qualification needed for certain kinds of activity listed in the annex to Law no. 93/1998
Proof that you paid the patent fee
for the period you ask for, from 1 to 12 months
Proof of your representative's authority
if a representative applies on the legal grounds
Proof of insurance
that you are insured in the compulsory health insurance system, or papers that exempt you from paying the contribution (a certificate in the model issued by the CNAM territorial agencies)
Proof of social insurance
that you paid the state social insurance contribution for the whole period you ask for, or papers that exempt you from it
Two photos, 3 x 4
handed in at the counter, whether you applied online or on paper
For some activities
such as ones involving children — a criminal and contravention record, a declaration that you have not lost your parental rights by a final court decision, and a medical conclusion for admission to the childcare service
For some activities
a copy of the real estate register extract or of the lease of the premises you will use, or, for a rural house, of the register of household records
