Registration of an individual enterprise (sole proprietor)

The registration of individual entrepreneurs is a public service through which an individual can officially set up an individual enterprise – an accessible and flexible form of business that allows activity on one's own account without creating a legal entity, in fields such as the production of goods, trade, the provision of services, crafts and others, except activity in agriculture, carried out for the purpose of earning an income.

This form of activity is suitable for people who want to quickly start a small business or an independent professional activity, without high costs and without complex formalities.

All tax, statistical, medical and social registrations are carried out automatically by the authorities, and at the end you receive the official confirmation.

Who can request the service, and under what conditions?

You can request the service of state registration of an individual entrepreneur if:

• you have reached the age of 18;
• you are a citizen of the Republic of Moldova;
• you are a foreign citizen or a stateless person, a resident of the Republic of Moldova.

You cannot request the service of state registration of an individual entrepreneur if:

• you are already registered as an individual entrepreneur or have enterprises that have not been liquidated in the manner established by law, or that have debts to the national public budget;
• there is a court decision by which you have been deprived of the right to practise as an individual entrepreneur.
