One-off birth allowance (CNAS)

For mothers (or the child's legal representative if the mother has died) of a newborn in Moldova, who receive a one-off payment from the National Social Insurance House (CNAS).

Good to know

  • The allowance is free to claim and you do not apply: the service is proactive. It is paid on the basis of the data the state already holds.
  • It is set for the mother, or, if she has died, for the child's legal representative.
  • The conditions: the child was registered at ASP, and the data needed are in the state information resources and recorded in the CNAS information system within 12 months of the birth.
  • It is decided within 30 days of the registration in the CNAS system. If the information is wrong or incomplete, the time is extended until the correct data appear, by up to 30 calendar days more.
  • The payment goes through the government service MPay: to a bank account linked to MPay, or in cash at any post office or any Energbank branch.
  • If you do not collect it for 3 months in a row, the payment is suspended. You can restart it by a request at the CTAS of your place of residence.
