Consular legalisation (super-legalisation) of a document

For people who need a document legalised for use between Moldova and a state that has no treaty with Moldova on legal assistance and does not use the apostille.

Good to know

  • Super-legalisation is for documents with a foreign element used with states that have no treaty or legal-assistance convention with Moldova and are not parties to the Hague Convention of 1961, so an apostille does not apply.
  • It takes 3 working days. The official page lists these fees for the consular legalisation of a document issued by the authorities of a foreign state and meant to be used in Moldova.
  • Individuals can apply whatever their citizenship and wherever they live, at the Consular Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or at a Moldovan embassy or consulate.
  • You can apply yourself, through relatives of the first and second degree, or through a representative with a notarised mandate or power of attorney.
